Enter when you were on duty for the last 8 days. See how many hours you have left today, exactly when recap hours come back over the next week, and whether your time off already contains a 34-hour restart. Everything is computed on this page — nothing is uploaded.
Format: HH:MM-HH:MM, comma-separated for multiple stretches, or off for a fully off day. Everything between the stretches — and the nights — counts as off duty. Overnight shifts: split at midnight (22:00-24:00, 00:00-05:00).
Under 49 CFR 395.3(b) you may not drive after being on duty 60 hours in any 7 consecutive days (or 70 hours in any 8 if your carrier operates every day of the week). The window rolls: on day D, only the on-duty hours of days D−6 (or D−7) through D count. When a day falls out the back of the window, its hours stop counting — drivers call that recap. This calculator projects, day by day, when each chunk of your week stops counting and how many hours that frees up.
Two things the window will never do by itself: add driving time (the 11-hour daily driving limit is untouched by all of this), and restart. Only 34 or more consecutive hours off duty ends a 7/8-day period and zeroes the count — that's the reset checker above.
