The rest facility classes (§117.3): Class 1 is a flat bunk separate from flight deck and passengers; Class 2 is a cabin seat reclining to flat or near-flat, curtained from passengers; Class 3 is a seat reclining at least 40° with leg and foot support. A fourth pilot buys you 1.5–2 hours; upgrading from Class 3 to Class 1 buys you about 2 hours more.
§117.11(a): 13 hours maximum flight time with a 3-pilot crew, 17 with 4 — regardless of report time (unaugmented crews use Table A instead: 8–9 h).
